One of the first things a blogger will look at before deciding to use your WordPress theme or not is whether or not the theme pass XHTML validation. Aside from those who may potentially use your theme, other WordPress theme designers may check your validation as well.

One of the imple ways to ensure that your WordPress theme validates is to use the W3C Markup Validation Service. This is probably the most know validator across the industry and should be the first one you try.

In addition, Mozilla Firefox has a really cool add-on which will produce an onscreen icon to show whether or not the current web page validates or not. Even though this is a great tool, I’d suggest using both of these to ensure your XHTML validates.
