King-Size is designed with photographers in mind. Its most prominent feature is the very large background image that the theme allows you to easily place on your homepage. Provided with powerful features that allow you to manage galleries in sophisticated ways, this theme is ideal for those who have photographic or other image content to share online. The theme doesn’t stop with image content, however, it has all of the features that you would expect in a WordPress 3.0 theme, including features that allow users to make comments and to participate in discussions on your blog.
Given that not all photographers happen to be web designers, the designers of the King-Size theme included 8 video tutorials that will help users to understand how to use the theme and how to take advantage of its most advanced features. There is also extensive documentation included so that you don’t have to worry about any questions you may have going unanswered.
There are five separate galleries that you can use to display your art or your photographic images on the site. They include slide viewers and other technologies that allow you to create exactly the image you want for your viewers. The options for your galleries, as well as for all of the other aspects of the site, are controlled from the theme options panel that allows you to make any changes you need without ever having to touch the code that drives the site. The code itself is designed to be completely compliant with W3C standards, so you don’t have to worry about anybody’s browser not displaying your website correctly. This theme will display correctly in any of the modern browsers on the market.
The typography on King-Size is easy to read and should not present any problems to anyone who is comfortable reading off of a webpage. For those who need a sophisticated web presence to showcase their visual artwork, King-Size is an excellent choice. The theme makes use of JQuery technology, ensuring that those who don’t have JavaScript activated on their browsers will still be able to see the site in an attractive way. It is also integrated with social networking sites by way of icons, allowing you to take advantage of the powerful networking available through those services. For a professional or amateur photographer, or any level of visual artist, this theme would make an excellent choice for a portfolio.

Jeez…another example of a site designed by a designer for a designer with a large monitor. I agree that’s it’s a nice design and I like it (and yes, I went to college and majored in design), but from a practical view the screen size needed to view the whole page AND THE MENU (which is key to useability and visitor experience) is way, way out of the range for most monitors and immediately creates a break in affinity for a user with an average-sized screen.
When will designers start designing for the computer parameters that the MAJORITY of people have?? Get a clue – mobile is quickly on the rise and if you’re not already anticipating how to present a site in that tiny space – or at least on an iPad or Android pad, you’re living in your own dream world.

As a follow-up to my last comment, and I do like the theme a lot for its flexibility, my point was that more and more people have additional toolbars installed. In the US, some Internet service providers automatically install their own toolbar, especially when they’ve partnered with Yahoo or AVG or some other big brand. Situations where a person has these add’l toolbars installed like that will push the page further down and obscure some of the navigational elements.
